Thrifty Car Rental - Dubai Silicon Oasis

I've rented cars from here a few times and it's always been a great experience. A special thank you to Sadaqat Ali for his great help on my last rental. He's fantastic. He really took the time and effort to help choose the right car and was very efficient, responsive, and friendly throughout the whole rental process!

I have tried different rental car and I have regretted that I have not tried Thrifty from the start. I am satisfied with their excellent service and the fact that I can return the car in any thrifty location. All of the representative are nice regardless of the branch. They are very thorough with the process of getting the car and returning it back. I had zero bad experience with my deposit and trust that amount is always returning back to my card. I have been renting for multiple times now and I have never received bad experience nor bad condition car. I always receive 2024 or 2025 models.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from your company during my recent booking for a one-day car rental. I made the reservation online, expecting a smooth process as I have always experienced with other rental companies. However, my experience with your company was extremely disappointing. Upon arriving to collect the vehicle, I was informed for the first time that a deposit of 1,500 AED was required, which would only be returned after 21 days. This information was not made clear to me prior to booking. As a result, I requested to cancel my reservation and have my payment refunded. Unfortunately, my request was refused, and I was informed that, according to your terms and conditions, a cancellation fee equal to the full amount paid would be charged. This policy is unreasonable and resulted in both a loss of my money and a waste of my time. Such treatment reflects poorly on the company and does not meet acceptable customer service standards, particularly in a city like Dubai, which is known for its high level of service excellence. I respectfully request that to refund the amount that I've paid and didn't get the service

I booked a car through their website and paid the rental fee. When I went to the branch to collect the car, I was very surprised by how they handle the deposit! They don’t accept Apple Pay, they don’t take cash, and if you use a Visa debit card, the amount is not held as a deposit but actually charged. When I asked about the refund, they said “30 business days.” It has already been 30 days and I still haven’t received my money back. I was in contact with the staff, including Ms. Lababa and several other employees, but unfortunately without any result. This was my experience with them.

had a terrible experience with this company. I rented a car from them over two months ago and paid a deposit, which they promised to refund within 40 days. It's now been well over that period, and I still haven’t received my money back. I’ve called multiple times — every time I’m told something different: that someone will call me back, or they’ve emailed the department, or to wait a few more days. No one has ever followed up, and nothing has been resolved. This feels like stalling or even intentional avoidance. I’ve had to escalate the matter to Dubai Consumer Rights and am now preparing to dispute the charge with my bank. Avoid this company unless you want to waste your time chasing your own money. Totally unprofessional, unreliable, and untrustworthy.
