The Dubai Mar Thoma Church in Jebel Ali stands as a proud testament to the Lord's abounding favour on those who sought his name in a foreign land over 50 years ago. By His grace, we received the permission and land to construct our own church of worship. For this we are indebted to the honourable ruling family and government of this emirate This place follows only traditional approach. Most of them blindly reciting the liturgy or order of worship for Malayalam Qurbana without really understanding the meaning since the malayalam and Syriac language is mixed in the order of worship for Holy communion service or ordinary service. They swing the insence to perfume the altar to make it look holy which is not required or not necessary. Their rule is that People there are not allowed to go to the altar with footwear, You will be forced to do donations for certain charitable trust programmes which the parish ties up with or else you will be frowned upon or judged and they will talk less to you or wont talk to you at all.

This is a Worship place for Marthomites(people from Kerala), no foreigners, no north Indians are allowed to be a member. They can visit. That's all. But they cannot register to be a member there. Christians coming there for worship in this parish are very rare. Baby / child baptism is being practised there. There is no clarity or proper understanding of Baptism. They do Adult baptism but only for converts from other religions. They don't encourage adult baptisms for Marthomites, Orthodox or Catholics or any protestant who had child baptism (which actually does not exist) to have again adult Baptism. This place follows only traditional approach. Their rule is that People there are not allowed to go to the altar with footwear, the latter should be taken off before entering the altar or Madubha. Because these Mar Thomites think God dwells in that altar and it is a holy place. When in fact they forget one thing, God does not dwell in one place, He is Omnipresent, Omnipotent. And as written in 1 Peter 1: 15 - 16 15.but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16.because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” So to conclude the altar is not holy. The Christians together are holy in the eyes of God through His Son Jesus. So the Christians (Not Marthomites) don't need to take off their footwear actually when going to the Madubha ( altar) to receive the holy communion. Note: Only adult ( 17+) Baptised people*, *who are really understanding their faith in Christ through the daily scriptures reading and studying and who really acknowledged Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and professed to the...
